How To Wear Tweed

When you take a look at tweed clothing, the first few things that would come to mind would be the words, boring, old, conservative and out of style. Well, tweed may be worn by our grandmothers long ago but that doesn’t mean that you will always look like grandma when you wear this type of clothing.

Did you know that there are many  ways on how you can wear tweed without looking like grandma! Yes, there are! Don’t believe me? Here are some of the ways on how you can do that:

Pair it with sweater  and hip sneakers.

Tweed with sneakers and sweater? Is that even possible. Of course, why not? If you have inherited grandma’s chunky tweed mini skirt that she used to wear when she was just in highschool, pair it with your chunky sweater (which is perfect for the holidays and the winter season ) and of course, finish off the look (and make it look more youthful) by pairing it with sneakers in white or similar shade as your mini skirt. Adding an oversized sunnies to the mix is also highly recommended.

Pair it with pumps and leather.

If you want to make your outfit look more hip, pairing it with leather will always make everything better. If you have a tweed jacket that you have inherited from grandpa but you have kept it at the back of your closet for the longest of time because you have no idea on how to style it, well, we have the perfect idea for you! Pair it with a crinkled slightly loose trouser (to provide balance to the loose silhouette of the jacket and pair it with pointed pumps to add some glamour to your look.

Add some sequins to it.

Did you know that you can make your tweed party ready? That’s so true! And we have just the secret—sequins. If you are a party girl or you love going out, there is a big chance that you have a sequined closet somewhere at the back of your closet. Well, take it out, wear it under your tweed jacket in similar shade and finish off the look with a pair of denim cutoffs and high heels. Now, go my friend, and party the night away!

Who would have ever thought that tweed can be hip, sexy, trendy and on point? Follow the tips mentioned above and rest assured; you can look hip and trendy (you would never think it would be possible!) with your tweed clothing! With these tips, you can change the idea that tweeds are just for our grandmothers—it can be for us too when worn and styled right.
